In the depths of loss and heartache, it is often difficult to imagine finding solace or beauty again. Yet, it is precisely within the depths of our pain that we discover the strength to rise, to heal, and to transform. I carry this understanding deep within my soul, as I have traversed my own journey of sorrow and healing.
Before embarking on the path of wife and motherhood, I embraced a different calling in life. In my late teens and early twenties, I made the choice to serve in the Army National Guard. With a resounding "hooah," I took on the duty to protect and defend, experiencing firsthand the sacrifices and camaraderie that come with military service.
My time deployed in Afghanistan during 2013-2014 left an indelible mark on my heart and my spirit. It was a truly humbling experience that not only challenged me physically and mentally, but also shifted my perspective on life and the fragile nature of our existence. Witnessing the ephemeral nature of life can forever change one's understanding of its preciousness.
Grief, I came to learn, knows no timeline nor boundaries. Its pain can reverberate through our souls long after the physical loss has occurred. It is this intimate knowledge of grief that fuels my determination to transform brokenness into something beautiful.
Mother Made Keepsakes, LLC was born out of a desire to offer solace, comfort, and a gentle reminder of the enduring power of love. While my creations cannot erase the pain or fill the void left behind, they serve as tangible emblems of the love we hold so dear. These keepsakes honor cherished memories and provide a small measure of peace in the midst of heart-wrenching sorrow.
